ROBERT PEEBLES

Robert PEEBLES was apparently employed by the Government when he first came to New South Wales to erect the treadmill at Carters Barracks. He later superintended the erection of two windmills; One at Port Macquarie and the other at Walliby (sic) Hill. He died in about September 1841 from injuries suffered after falling into the hopper of the mill of his employer, Major INNES.
