    The Myers Self-Oiling Working Head was patented in the USA by Philip A. MYERS, the brother in the company F.E. Myers & Bro.

    The F. E. Myers & Bro. Company, also known as the Ashland Pump & Hay Tool Works, was founded in 1870 by Francis E. and Philip A. MYERS in Ashland, Ohio, USA. Its industry was water systems and its headquarters were in Ashland, Ohio.

The company was sold to the McNeil Machine & Engineering Company in 1960. In 1986, it was acquired by Pentair, Inc. The company dissolved in 1997, and the Myers brand was marketed through Pentair Pump Group, Inc., which later changed its name to Pentair Flow Technologies, Inc. in 2013.
