The Webb T Type windmill superseded the Webb 'S' Type windmill and was generally though to be inferior to the earlier model. It had a welded gearbox instead of a cast one and was manufactured by WEBB BROS of 284 - 294 City Road, South Melbourne, Victoria from circa 1938.
Advertising for the Webb Model 'T' made much of its all steel construction. The windwheel frame was made of flat steel with double spoke, welded construction, secured to the steel wheel centre by double bolts to each steel leg. Stamped galvanised steel brackets were bolted to the steel wheel rims to carry the sails. The hollow tail shaft was supported on the steel tail hinge with the coil spring tail shock absorber and adjustable hanger and tail stop.
Internal gears were made of manganese bronze. It was an enclosed, ball bearing, double geared windmill with all working parts immersed in lubricating oil.
The windmill head was mounted on a galvanised, four post, V-stayed, heavy angle steel tower.
The Webb T windmill was manufactured under two of the patents of Percy Barrett WEBB. They were Patent No. 23,920 of 1925 and Patent No. 2,359 of 1938.
